Church Council

The First Congregational Church Council consists of the minister(s), moderator, vice-moderator, clerk, and the chairs of the boards.

The council considers policy and administrative affairs of the church when the congregation is not meeting as a whole. It provides direction to the senior minister and staff on behalf of the congregation. All church boards report to the congregation through the church council.

The council is responsible for a goals and objectives plan for the church, including the church policy and procedures manual. It advises the minister on the general direction of church activities and the formation of a well-rounded program.

The council also presents a slate of members on the pastoral search committee to the church for approval. It provides for recognition of members and groups and is responsible for scheduling monthly family Sunday potlucks.

Meeting Date, Time, and Place:
The church council meets every third Sunday after services at 12:00 pm in the Board Room.
